PayPal Express Checkout / WPP Suddenly not working

I am having an issue that seems to be coming from my PayPal related pages. In the shopping cart if I click 'Checkout with PayPal' button FF gives me a page time out error. Same thing if I go through using WPP and click on confirm order. I am also getting a page timeout in the admin when I click to edit an exhisting order.

I loaded the IPN test file to ensure my connection to PayPal was working and it was successful. I could not find any documentation on what do do next. If someone can please help as I am at a complete loss. My website is www.kotapparel.com if you would like to check out the issue, simply try to checkout and it will lock up.

I set my PayPal mods to log files and did a few test purchases (or at least as far as I could get). When I went to retrieve the log files I also get a connection time out error in FileZilla. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Filezilla getting a timeout has nothing to do with ZenCart
It appears that you have a root issue with connecting

When you click reply - scroll up and read the posting tips in the reply window - then provide the additional information

Thanks for the reply Kobra. Is there anything I can do to test/fix my connection? Like I said I ran the IPN connect and connected to PayPal sucessfully, but I can't get any page that uses PayPal to load. I double checked all of my PayPal settings and everything is correct. Thanks

1. are you REALLY still using v1.3.8a? It's VERY old and has security problems which are fixed by upgrading to at least 1.3.9

2. what is your URL?

3. what results do you get from the curl-tester script as described here? http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...-Testing-Tools (using the ?paypal=1 parameter) ... post the output in your reply

Oh, I see you already posted the CURL stuff in another thread. In future, please try to keep your posts on a matter all together in one place. Makes it a lot easier to provide specific help to your specific issue.

Evidently you meant to say http://www.kotapparel.com/extras/curltest.php


What's alarming is that the message "29 Naahh.. it will not work!" doesn't come from Zen Cart or curltest.php at all. That's something freehostia has done.

You'll need to sort out your problems with your hosting company.

Ha! even Freehostia admits that it's an issue on their servers!

My suggestion: 1. Find a more appropriate hosting company, and then 2. Upgrade to a more modern version of Zen Cart.

Thank you for your replies Dr. I actually came across the same freehostia forum post doing a google search for the error. They are currently looking into what may be causing the error within the IPN main handler. They also strictly asked me to remove the curltest.php file and said they would shut down my account if I did not. I am currently seeking out a new hosting company.

As for updating, my site at www.kotapparel.com is very heavily modified and may be a bit much for me to handle. I will run it past my customer and if they go for it I will post it on oDesk. Thanks again for the help and I will see if my host can resolve the problem. If they give me any insight I will be sure to post it back here.

I'm not surprised. The 1.3.8 version of curltest.php had a security issue in it, and was replaced with curltester.php in 1.3.9.
Again, you're holding onto bad problems by not upgrading.
