mercury on localhost, how to send the contact us message to my email?

hey guys, want to ask how do you send the message from the contact us page to my own email? im using a localhost, to my understanding you need something called a mail server, i configured mercury mail which was included with xampp and configured windows live mail as instructed on this site http://system66.####################...host-with.html but it did not work, what should i put into the SMTP email and SMTP email account mailbox and SMTP email mail host in the configurations -> email admin page?

Are you attempting to run your cart from a local install??

If so, drop this idea and get a good host

im just testing it out before going live with a real host

There are things that can not be tested in a local environment
And email is one of the last things to worry about

You can se your admin to set Configuration->Email Options->Email Archiving Active to true. Then, each time an email is sent the text/html is recorded to the email_archive table in your database. Use localhost/phpmyadmin to view this information. Remember to set the configuration value back to false for your live store!
