Categories grid - can I change number of columns?

Hi all

Im using the following URL to present my customers with the various categories to browse my store (rather than use a side bar column)

Does anyone know of a setting how I would force the store to present the categories in four columns, rather than three columns and four rows, as it is behaving now.

Looked all through options and cant find anything, getting really tired and sure Im missing it.

Configuration > Maximum Values > Categories To List Per Row.

There are many instances where settings for one aspect of the site are spread over two or three configuration pages. Always check Min/Max if there are quantities involved in a setting and you can't find it under the relevant area.

I'm working with Paul up there and I'm having a problem getting our categories to line up horozontally across our index page.

it's 1.5 and I'm 99% certain this should be way easier than this. Can you point to what I may be doing wrong? If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. thanks!

The items in the standard categories listing are floated left; your stylesheet has apparently removed this.

That may have been to make one of the many other elements grouped with it stop floating and align vertically... only the one who did it knows.

okay, I've added that to the bottom of my stylesheet but there is no change. All my categories are still shoved to the left.

When I changed text-align to float in the rule shown in your stylesheet in Firebug, it lined back up in columns as it should.

Oh I don't doubt it (the way my night is going) my syntax looks right? Is there maybe something I should remove from my style sheet?
