2010 USPS Buildt In Shipping Module not working in 2013

The current USPS RateV3 for January 27, 2013 does require curl ... it is the ONLY current USPS shipping module for the January 27, 2013 rate changes ...

To see if your server has curl installed, look to see if you have the file:
/extras/curltester.php

and run that to see what the results are ...

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by "run that". Do you think I can check with the host and find out?

You would go in your browser to:
your_domain_name .com/extras/curltester.php

Asking your hosting provider is another good way to see if you have it running on your server for your domain ...

I found out I do in fact have CURL on my server. So how do I know which version to use? The first or second download?

Hi I am experiencing a similar issue and believe I am at the same spot as the initial poster. Have followed the process outlined in the link you have provided. usps.php is in both locations, ran the "curltester" but the admin shipping modules does include the USPS option.

I just downloaded the usps.php and then uploaded it into the two locations. Are any changes required or is it good to go when you download it?

You need to follow the instructions and if you have an old USPS installed you need to do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure ...

I installed the most recent version of the USPS module. I can tell that it is updated because the configuration area in Zen Cart says

USPS version Date
2013-01-27

When I do a test check out I am still getting the following error:

We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)
Your account is in TEST MODE. Do not expect to see usable rate quotes until your USPS account is moved to the production server (1-800-344-7779) and you have set the module to production mode in Zen Cart admin.

What am I doing wrong? Could it be my User ID? USPS sent me a username and password. I am assuming the username is the same as the User ID. Not sure why the module doesn't require the password.

Any insight you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.

You do not need the password, just the user id ...

Did you call USPS to activate your user id for the Production Server?

Try switching to the Production server rather than the Test Server as the Test Server is pretty iffy on whether or not it will work ...
