Problem viewing additional pictures

I've just encountered a problem with viewing additional pictures. Everything uploads fine and the product page looks exactly as it should but when I click on the additional image only the main image loads up.

I have other products that have additional images that I entered ages ago and they work as they should. It seems that it is only new products that are experiencing this problem. I've cleared out my cache and restarted my browser (I've even tried different browsers) but I can't get the additional images to load.

As this is a feature I only use occasionally I don't know when this problem started. I have upgraded from 1.3.8 to 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 so this could have happened at any point along the line.

Can someone advise me how to fix this or point me to the relevant code so I can check it?

Your base image is named 92river01ed001a.jpg

Your additional image is named 92river01ed001a_back.jpg

Try renaming your additional image as

92river01ed001a_01.jpg

Thanks for getting back to me. I've renamed the files as you suggested but the problem still persists. I've also tried various other filenames eg using just letters or numbers for the main name then _01 or _back for the alternative image but I get the same result everytime. In the DVD section I have alternative images of the DVD covers and these work fine but these were done sometime ago. I added extra products to the DVD section to see if I could replicate the problem there and yes I can - new products won't show additional images.

I've tried uploading pics from different files/folders from my PC with the same result. It's like the coding that handles images has been rewritten at some point and new products have the new code but old products have retained the old code. I don't know if that's true or even possible but that's the way the program is behaving.

Try switching to the classic template to narrow this down to a possible custom template file

I switched it back to the Classic Green Template and it's still not displaying additional pics. I've switched back to the custom template for now but let me know if you need me to leave it on the Classic Green for you.

Try renaming the directory

images/elvisshop trading cards/
to
images/elvisshoptradingcards/

Removing the spaces - it is not a good idea to use spaces or caps or special characters in ant directory or file name

You will have to re-add the image after renaming in the admin/catalog products area
