Edit html within product descriptions

Is there a way to edit the html tags site wide, rather than individually? I am using a table tag in my description to display a chart particular to the individual product. I want to be able to set the width for all of the tables to be identical and wondered if I could use sql to do so. I had modified the description using sql but do not see how I can do the same for the tags within the description. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to manually assign them an ID and add that ID to your stylesheet with styling as you want
