Manufacturers Info

I apologize if this is out there, I searched, but so many irrelevant things pop up that it's a bit overwhelming. Is there a way, or a plugin, or module, or something that I can add a snippet of Manufactures info? For instance, if you click on the Manufacturer in the sidebox, it'll show you a full list of their products and their logo, but I want also to have up there lot's of words describing them, something that can pop up on the googles, sitemaps, etc... Is this something that exists?

Yes, take a look in the plugins section for Manufacturers Description.

I did see these, do the older 1.3 plugins work decent on the new 1.5.1 build?

I believe that this one will work. Try it out on a test cart first and merge any changed files since 1.3.9 that are in the plugin package.
