    Default Security with .htaccess

On the zencart recommendations option 9 they mention to used .htaccess to protect against unwanted snooping . I check in my site and I don't find this file. I downloaded a new version and also I don't find the file. I am on a Mac. Is it my computer problem? If so where should I put the .htaccess file and with what contents.
    Thanks.

Just a friendly reminder: By default Apple follows the UNIX and BSD convention of hiding any file starting with a DOT from graphical view.

If you do web development and interact with Apache servers, you may wish to either install an application capable of showing you .htaccess files or disable hiding files starting with a DOT.

If you're using the latest version of Zen Cart, then the "supplied" .htaccess files that come with Zen Cart already contain the suggestions in that tip, and more.
