My Adsense banners don't open in new windows

Ok, I am trying to figure this out. I have added some banners in, one is a rotation advertising one and another is an AdSense one. The problem is NONE of them when clicked are opening in a new window, they all open in the current tab. I am testing this with Chrome and IE9. I go to Tools - Banner Manager and all of them are set for new window, so I don't know what I am missing. These are all html text banners if that plays into it.

Not sure as it works in Chrome for me but I do not have IE 9 to test it ...

Can you make a simple Banner to a link on your site that say Open New Window and test it?

Also, have you a link to your site where we could perhaps try this?

I see what you are doing ...

We cannot control the HTML banner ...

The script in that banner is beyond the control of Zen Cart since it's that script which is controlling what happens on the click of everything controlled on its site, as in Google AdSense ...

So not simple solution for you tonight ... sorry ...

Kobra, it was two fold. First of all Google AdSense doesn't allow the click to be opened in a new windows, secondly I had to add target="_blank" into the HTML of the other banners. They were set to use HTML and in Zen Cart I had it set to a new window, but until I added that target item into my HTML, it didn't work. Make sense?

From Google's FAQ: "Generally, it is our policy to not allow Google ads to open in a new window. However, in a few markets, including China, we've found that opening ads in a new window better aligns with expected internet behavior and provides a more consistent, intuitive user experience.

Keeping in mind the importance of the user experience, we've enabled Google ads to open in new windows in locations where this is expected browsing behavior. This functionality is determined by the IP of the user, and is not an option you can select your AdSense account.

We also ask that you don't modify the AdSense ad code or alter the result of clicking on an ad on your website, as such behavior violates our program policies."
