Affiliate tracking with ZC03C00209 theme?

hello I have the paid theme ZC03C00209 from template-faq.com but unfortunately i can not get any support.
I am trying to put the affiliate tracking link in the site as per http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?299 How do I add affiliate tracking pixels to my site?
But it does not work on this theme

any suggestions to getting this to work.
I have /includes/templates/ZC03C00209/checkout_success/tpl_footer.php set up, but no tracking code in the checkout success page, is there another location that is being called up

Most of these "commercial" templates have serious alterations to core code and behaviour. That is why they are NOT RECOMMENDED. People buy them because they "look nice" on the vendors' websites, but what they fail to tell you is that they only "look nice" because the core code has been dramatically changed.

So it is well nigh impossible to advise on what the problem might be - without doing some major analysis on the code - and that can take a LOT of time, and at $40/hour it starts to get expensive.

The best way to TEST your tracking code insertion is to REVERT TO THE CLASSIC TEMPLATE (assuming it has not been tampered with), and then configuring the checkout_success/tpl_footer.php for that template.

If it works, then you know your problem is your rubbishy commercial template.

Best advice is to ditch that template (consider it schoolfees) and to look at one of the nice free templates by picaflor azul.

If you are having problems with installing custom features in this instance - then you can be sure there will be many other tearful encounters with problems when you try to add other modules.

I cannot agree and support Schoolboy's statement and suggestion enough, ditch the butchered commercial template and checkout Picaflor's stuff instead.
