cart error Checkout successful but customer gets error message & products stay in shopping cart

    Hi,

Previously I noticed the problem described below with cash on delivery payment method, and today again while testing PayPal Express checkout (by customers with and w/o PayPal account). I was able to place and pay for the orders using credit cards, but with the following hiccups:

    1. When I was taken back to the store's website (/index.php?main_page=checkout_process) after paying for each order on paypal.com, all I saw was a blank page with only the following error message displayed on it:
    Array ( [0] => This transaction has already been captured (OrderID : ##) )

    2. The purchased products remained in the customers' shopping carts as if never checked out.

At the same time, an IPN log was generated successfully for each order (no error logs); both store owner and customer received order confirmation emails; the orders show up both in store's admin and customers' order history AND the store's PayPal account and customers' credit card accounts; and the product inventory amount was adjusted after each order. So...the orders went through, but if customers don't check their emails right away, they will think they didn't.

What could be causing this odd behavior, and how do I fix it?

Just in case this matters, here's the slew of plugins I have installed to date - both Zen Cart (1.5.1) and the plugins are first-time installs, no upgrades:

    ceon_uri_mapping_4.4.1_for_zc

Assuming that you have adhered to the template overrides and that none of your addons have overridden any core files -
especially those files that are checkout process related

Try switching to the classic template and perform a transaction - if this is without error
Then you have narrowed the issue to one/combination of your template related functions/files

Hi kobra - I am using the Classic template... And yes, I tried very hard to adhere to all the file merging guidelines best I could. Of course, there is ample room for human error there... Can you suggest what specific files I should check? Thanks! ~magz

I am using the Classic template
You should have created your own custom template - just for things like this

Without looking at the files for all of your addons I can not suggest

Found the issue! Human error, of course, but not with merging or overriding the template files. I didn't realize that TaxCloud assigned separate API IDs and keys per website rather than per TaxCloud account and I had the same info entered on both the testing website and the real one. Once I entered the correct info, orders complete as prescribed. Whew...

Regarding creating a custom template, I didn't know one was supposed to do that... Brand new to Zen Cart, this is my first project. I do use a "classic" subdirectory in various locations where I put plugin-specific files and template overrides that are supposed to go to the custom template directories - is this what you were referring to, kobra, or on my next project should I make additional template override directories and give them a name other than "classic"?

    Thanks,
    Magz

should I make additional template override directories and give them a name other than "classic"?
You could copy all your classic folder contents to another folder name
Then replace- reupload the original classic folder/contents

These tutorials should explain this better

    http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...-are-they-used
