Default Changing username in cPanel loses database

    Hi

I am moving hosting providers and did a cPanel migration (well they did); however as the username for the domain was already in use I had to change it to another hence the MySql database name changed eg:

    oldsite_zcart13 to
    newsite_zcart13

This means when I go to the site I now get a `If this is your first time ... message about not able to connect to database etc.

If I change the database name in the 2 places in each of the includes/ and admin/includes configure files should that fix the problem, or will it be easier to try and change the original domain to another and theis domain username back to `oldsite'.

    Thanks
    Ernie

Look in cpanel under the database icon

Use that db name in your 2 configure.php files

Also check the db user names & passwords and it might be best to create new user & pass

These also need to be updated in your configure files

    Hi Kobra:

I did a backup of the new database just in case (as on my old provider I did something and the database now shows 0.00 Mb).

I replaced the old user with the new one - in both the database entries as well as the paths in the 2 configures.

I don't know if you can help with this one, but I have updated DNS and it seems to have propagated through, however in WHM under the DNS Zone it shows some remnants of the old NS entries - can I update these manually without messing things up?

That is a server issue and not a ZenCart Issue
Suggest that you look somewhere else for a solution
