Question about 'Featured Products for month'

I added the products that I had just added to be displayed in the 'Featured for May'. I deleted all the products in the featured products and then added the new products. But the old items are still showing up as well as the new items. Where else do I look for the older items so they won't show up with the new items?

Can you give a link to where this is happening,


1) What do you see when you go to

admin --> Catalog --> Featured products

Are the deleted products showing there?
Are all of the ones you actually want showing there?
If you disable one by clicking on the green square icon under status, does it disappear from the front end of the store?

If the ones you don't want are showing there, what happens if you click on the green square, do they disappear from the front end?


2) they should drop out if it is truly the featured products section

this sounds more like someone has renamed the "New products for" section heading to "Featured products for" via the english.php file
What link is showing where you are viewing the "Featured Products for May"

Is it this
YOURSITE/index.php?main_page=featured_products
If not what happens if you append that to your site root?

3) This is a bit out of left field but what happens if you go to
Admin --> Configuration --> New Product Listing - Limited to ...

and set it to 7

Does that make a difference??
I only ask as I have seen a site where they renamed the New Products section to Feature Products so it would show nicely on the front page and on the category pages
