    Default Custom Buttons

    Hi everyone,

I have created and changed out all the buttons in my store by updating the button_names.php file. The only items that I can not sort out are the two search buttons and the small_delete button, which are listed in the button_names.php file but didn't change. The small_delete button is not listed in the button_names.php file.

The two search buttons are #1 the search button in the header area and then the search button in the sidebox area, I created 2 different buttons for those and then the small_delete button is used on the shopping cart page.

I have searched the forums and only find lots of very old information that doesn't work. If someone has any fresh information I would really appreciate it.

    Here is the site: http://theposhbox.net/ZenCart/

Those search buttons are HTML 'submit' buttons, and these are handled/treated differently than the other input buttons, which is why you are having trouble finding them.

Although I've not used it myself, you may find the following add-on may be useful.

    Hi Rod,

Yes, I did download that mod and customized it.. however, I just wanted to be able to do the buttons because I know some clients will want them so might as well learn to do them.. I still would love to know how to get these last three buttons going..

Thanks so much for your reply.. Pamela

Here's a more specific example of how to 'roll your own':

I was figuring that the mod I referred you to would have a similar example, but with an included zencart stylesheet ready to edit.
Using the 3rd party info means you may need to add to the zen stylesheets as opposed to just editing.

Same results, same methods, different examples.

    Cheers
    Rod

This is just a mess.. I'm just going to use the CSS button Mod and be done with it.. who knew a stupid search button would cause so much grief! Plus.. now I don't have to make all those darned buttons..

    Aarrtrghhh... ooooerrr.... Eeeeekkkkkk....

*HTML has two 'types' of buttons. INPUT buttons and SUBMIT buttons. There isn't a 'Search' button as such. What you are calling a "Search button" is in fact a SUBMIT button. The only difference is that the text 'submit' has been changed to read 'search'.

This is why I keep pointing you to the references on how to style the 'SUBMIT' button, because it is exactly the same button.

    Cheers

*HTML has had many changes over the years. This may no longer be entirely accurate.
