New Design, Help with Logo/Header

Hello All,

I'm trying to build a brand new design. I want to create a small logo, on the top left hand corner, and then have links in the top right hand area. I know it can be done, but really don't have an idea of how to.

IF you go to http://www.dabs.com you will see they have the dabs.com logo at the top left, and then they have a search box, and then a small banner. That is not exactly how we want the design, but similar, I want our logo, and then maybe a search box, and then maybe links to the my account, about us etc, and then my own cart image. So, we require a logo, but then require the extra space to the right, to add images and links

Can somebody please explain where I start with this, I have been search the forums, and still continuing to search, but cant find my answer

Sorry, we have only designed a offline copy, so cannot provide a link. Im looking at a template at the moment, and it seems there are lots of new files to create, is there not an add on for adding or customizing the top of the page

Yes I think its going to take quite a lot of work. Ive scrapped that idea and just moved the login buttons to the top right. Thanks for your help
