URL Parameters - Adding to Cart

When adding a product to cart from the product_listing page. It carries over some extra url parameters.

index.php?main_page=shopping_cart&sort=2a&products_id=504

However, when adding to cart from product_info_display. The parameters seem to get cleared.

index.php?main_page=shopping_cart

Is it important to have these parameters remain in the url once added to cart?

How could they be removed?

I think it's more important to first understand why you're even asking these questions.

With the products_id in the URL. The shopping cart page shows the breadcrumb trail and with out it. It does not. I want it to be consistent

I am guessing that you are using buy now buttons on your Product Listing ...

The products_id was removed from the URL in v1.3.9h ... you might look to upgrade your site to that ...

Ajeh,

Thanks for the quick response on this. I am in the process of upgrading to 1.5, although the live site is 1.3.8a.

I was able to find where it was adding the parameter in the code, interestingly enough the solution was commented out, right above the line that needed to be changed.

Are there any other considerations I should look for with this change?

The differences in v1.3.8 and v1.3.9h are so vast, I cannot, without a ton of work, go through everything to figure out what else might need changing, if anything ...

Once you are upgraded, this should all resolve itself for you ...
