Just the folder, BUT, I have to ask, what are/were 'all the files inside' the /log/ folder? What about the /cache/ folder?

There should usually only be a couple of files in each of these (and their permissions rarely ever need changing).

If there are lots of files, and they have a name like "myDEBUG......log" have a read of the 'newest' ones with a text editor like Notepad, these will generally tell you exactly what is going wrong.
