Default Is there a way to update head within admin panel without using FTP?

I would like to be able to update the head without using an FTP client.

I have to help customers install a javascript applet into their zencart. Some customers are clueless about what FTP is, but know how to access their admin panel.

I saw that if I pasted the script into the HTML portion of a banner it was possible, but wondering if there is a way to access the head without FTP or that way.

The best way to install extra things like javascript that need to be loaded into the <head> section is to use FTP to upload the file to the appropriate folder using the prescribed naming convention: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...s_-_Javascript

If FTP is a scary thing, then use your hosting company's control panel's File Manager. Arguably that's more complicated than an FTP program, but doesn't require another application.

That is the way how I would do it. To limit liability I just guide customers using various shopping carts to insert the script. Most of them have a way to edit the head within the admin panel. Some of our clients are clueless with using filezilla, but know how to access their admin panel. That is why I am looking for an admin panel solution for them to edit their head. I just watch their screen and tell them what to do, and don't touch their website or take control of their computer.

I did find a hack that putting the script in the HTML section of a banner worked, but that doesn't seem so elegant to me. I suppose that not all sites would have the banner throughout?

Not on all pages, no. Just a thought, but it seems to me that it would have been a lot more difficult to learn how to use a hosting control panel than a simple FTP client. I usually explain to people that a FTP program is just like Windows Explorer, only with two computers instead of one. I also use and recommend the FireFTP plugin for Firefox, which removes that 'yet another program' onus.

We have found that most zencart users do know how to FTP, but other ecommerce platform users don't. However, occasionally a zencart site owner had a dev/designer do all the work, and all they know is how to process orders. Then I have to explain what to do.

Shoot I even have had to explain what a computer desktop is before to a website owner.

Thanks I guess this thread can be closed, with there is no way to edit the head inside of zencart's admin panel.
