News - on 1.5.1

i have a 1.3.9 store and going to upgrade to 1.5.1 and just double checking all my plugin and mods. Noticed there isn't a news box manager plugin for 1.5.1

what do people do in regard to news with 1.5.1??

I have also been thinking of a WP blog in a sub domain on my site so this might take over the news

I have mailchip but the newsletters, not a news that you display on your site, I think ill go down the blog route with wordpress on a subdomain
