moving hosting

Hi, Checked the forums for this one found some answers kind of close but not enough so here goes.
I am moving from One company and a shared hosting to anothers using a VPS Moved all the files, edited the config.php files. but I can not connect to the DBs I think the problem is the difference is in my username for the DBs. Each company with a close user name but not the same. IS there a way to modify my old DB username and password so they match up with the new company. Tried to do a reinstall/DB update but that option was not available.
Ideas?

It will build the correct configure.php content for you, and then you can move over your original database and files (except use the new configure.php files instead of the old ones).
