red flag Three pics showing up on one product page???

Here is a link the the page http://www.spiritjewelry.org/index.p...roducts_id=272 . There should only be 1 pic in the usual place and yet its showing 2 others. I have no clue why this is happening or how to correct it. I have added several others at the same time, but don't have any issues with them.
HELP! I have hundreds more to add and don't want to run into this problem as I go

Product 272 has its primary image named "football.jpg", and you've got other products whose images are "footballsilver.jpg" and "footballgold.jpg".
And, since you've got the "additional product images" feature enabled, it's showing all other images which start with the same base as your primary image. Thus since "footballsilver" and "footballgold" start with "football", it's showing those images as well.

    Two options:
    a) if you will never use the additional-images support, turn it off
    b) if you do want to use that feature, rename football.jpg to footballbrown.jpg and upload the renamed image to that product 272

Ok that makes sense .... So I guess it would be better to use inventory numbers for my pics and then I can leave the option for multiple pics open?

You can use whatever you like, but if you use words that people search for, then you give yourself an added edge in SEO. Hyphenate to use multiple words. Add numbers if you like. You could even start with a brief inventory number followed by a hyphen and then a word or two to describe it.
The key is to make the main image filename unique.

Just to verify.... as you can see I have several football charms so for example... if I name the pics the following they won't read them as multiple pics of the same item?

    100_footballlrg.jpg
    101_footballbling.jpg
    102_footballlrgblacksilver.jpg
    ...

as long at the beginning of the name is different?

    100_footballlrg.jpg
    101_footballbling.jpg
    102_footballlrgblacksilver.jpg

It's not the "beginning" being different that does it, it is the fact that no image name starts with another image's full name.

    footballlrg.jpg
    and
    footballbling.jpg
    would work fine, but
    footballlrgblacksilver.jpg
would be treated as an additional image for footballlrg.jpg, since it starts exactly with footballlrg.

Just adding otherwise meaningless numbers to the names is probably less useful than making all names distinct enough that they won't get confused. If you have several footballlrg type products, you might name them footballlrgplain, footballlrgblacksilver, footballlrgredgreen, etc.

If 100, 101 and 102 are actually your stock numbers or something, then great, use them.
