Default Can I avoid having my wholesale site show up in search engines?

Have a go daddy shopping cart site for a wholesale company. Wholesale customers use the site to order products for their gift stores. When doing a google search a shopping cart link also appears in the search results. Clicking this link takes anyone directly into the site .

If I migrate this to Zen cart how can I avoid the same thing from occurring?

Not really a Zen question. Googling for block search engines reveals http://tinyurl.com/lces2rg as one of the choices.
    A little help with colors.

But there are things you can do within Zen Cart to make your store not show up in search engines; the Admin->Configuration->Customer Details page has a setting called "Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices." If you set it to 1 (must login to browse), spiders won't be able to crawl your site.

    Hi,

You can also use a robots.txt file to block search engines.

The robots.txt file is only for the 'good' search engines such as Google, Yahoo etc

That file is not acting like .htaccess which does block certain requests, robots.txt is only a guideline nothing more.
