Default Tutorials, Adding Two Sizes For Each Product, Changing The Height Of My Logo

    I have 3 questions:
    1. I have used Zencart for about 6 years, and I am pretty good at coding and fixing things up. Pretty. Good. I find that if I don't practice, I forget a lot and...face it, I am spending as much time as possible on my business and much less on learning and staying up to speed with ZenCart. Can you please suggest a good tutorial which I could look at to refresh me on intermediate functions? OK, basic to intermediate (because sometimes you think you remembered how to do that thing you did 2 years ago...and you don't remember). I have the book, but as good as it is it does not cover all things.
    2. How can I add another size to my products? I have about 300 products in my store and I would like to have each listing offer the product in 6ml and 10ml size. Is that possible?
    3. My logo at the top of the site is ever so slightly too tall for the container it is in. How can I change the logo to fit in the container. I really don't want to thrash around and try and fail then go back and put everything back and try again.

If you would like to see the site, it's www.possets.com. I do have Apsona Shop Admin but I am not sure if that has the ability to do what I want...I haven't found it so far. I did see a tutorial about being able to create products with drop down boxes for variable pricing but one of the first instructions it gives is,"...set taxes to 'no tax'" and (alas) I have to charge Sales Tax so it seems that option is out.

    Thanks for your help.

    1. I guess we'd need to know what you mean by 'intermediate'. An example would help.

    2. If I understand, that would be done with attributes. http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...to-my-products

    3. Your logo image is 90px high, as is your #logoWrapper. Try changing the height of the latter to 95 or 100 in the stylesheet.

    3. Part of the problem is that you have two images showing up in the same place. You have the logo.gif defined in the language file(s) and a background image in the css. Quickest fix is to delete all the background calls in the stylesheet for the logoWrapper and leave the height but set it to 95px.

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you on your answers. To answer Stevesh-I am having trouble understanding some parts of how to install or upgrade add ons. I realize they sometimes are different in how they are installed but still, I would feel more comfortable going over basics like that every once in a while. Up to intermediate things such as fixing the logo image in my header, I suppose as a big rule, I am more concerned about my grasp of things which don't have a control in the admin panel, in general. It would be great if there was a series of Youtube videos which were particularly good (I have seen some and I have only found videos about doing one thing...I was curious if there was a series that you could recommend). Failing that, I think I will just look around, read the stuff I find here under the tutorial section (some of which you really need to play along with to understand). So if you know of any others, please let me know.

dbltoe, I think I am confusing you, sorry. I do have background images on my pages (I change them when I get a new collection coming out and it's part of my branding scheme); that is in addition to the image in the header.

And Stevesh, I will go investigate your suggestions and tell you what happened.

Thank you all very much, I appreciate your thoughts and time.

Apologies to dbltoe! I was thinking you meant something else, it became obvious as soon as I made the logowrapper box several pixels taller that there were indeed TWO images turning up and overlapping. I took the call for the image in the stylesheet and turned it into a comment with /* and */ (this is the way of the coward...just in case something goes wrong, at least I can get it back to the original messed up state). With just a bit of fiddling I got the logowrapper to be the correct height and now it looks the way it should. Thank you, and again, my apologies.

My first line of information are the tutorials here in the forums. Anne (Picaflor Azul) has some stuff here:

Also, Stevesh, many thanks for putting me on to the way to show two sizes to order with attributes. I am not sure I would have associated the work "attributes" with the size options so your suggestion was invaluable. I tried to do this and it did work on my test product. At this point I am doing it one at a time BUT I suspect that there is a way to have this work en masse and I will have to think about that. I have to get the logic straight before I can go ahead...unless I really want to get the whole thing messed up very quickly...and I don't want to do that

Once again, thank you very much. I have learned a great deal from your answers and have managed to fix at least one vexing problem this afternoon. Now I can study about fixing the other ones.
