Can I use my store as a Catalog + Order form printout

Hi there Zenners!

I am wondering if there is a way to have Zencart set up as a Catalog store, with the products assigned a point value, instead of dollar, and allow the customers to add products to the cart, but instead of 'submitting' a cart for order, they will 'print' the order out as a form with the products/descriptions/quantity/price/totals listed.

Basically, I have a company looking to get an employee incentive program online. A full on cart solutions is too much for them to handle at the moment [the admin side would be insane for them], so a product catalog + order form print out would be the best way to get them online, but coincide with their current paper-only program.

You could set up a regular Zencart site and edit some of the language files to change mention of price to 'points'.
Make all of the products 'virtual', so the shipping page wouldn't display.
Use the Check/Money Order payment module, renamed and with some of the text edited.
That way, when the 'customer' submits the order, you (the site admin, or whatever email address you've specified in admin) and the customer will receive emails containing the information you want.

Stevesh, I didn't even think of doing it that way...and that may just work. I will get more information from them and see what can be done.

I do know the idea of having a button to 'print' the order, is so the employee has to take that form, along with their monies, to the company's Admin person, who will then manually process their order. Just the way they do it now as a paper-only program.

I guess the employee could print the order confirmation email if carrying paper around is important. (This is why I got out of business IT management .)
