    Default net & gross prices error

    I have a wierd error i can't seem to solve.

    On my computer using FF IE or chrome when i enter a gross price the net price shows the same even thought taxable good is selected.

    same when i enter a net price its not working out the gross.

    Now before you say is this set up tac right and zones etc, site has been running for years and all fine, this problem has just started. tested on another computer in office and same proiblem, test on my pc at home and its fine and test on phone and fine, seems to be an internal problem in the office.

    I have cleared the cache with no help, removed java and reinstalled and this worked for all of 24 hours now the same problem.

    Any one have any ideas???

    Under the Configuration ... My Store ... what is the Zone setup for on your store?

    In the Locations / Taxes ... Tax Rates ... what Zone do you have setup for your Taxes and what are your settings on your Taxable Goods when you hit EDIT?

    its defo a java error, uninstalled java again reinstalled and working again, wierd bug

    Just a note for those who may read this thread later. Java and Javascript are two completely different things. Java is NOT used by a stock installation of Zen Cart. Installing, upgrading, removing, or re-installing Java on your computer will have no direct impact upon Zen Cart.

    Javascript is a completely different programming language and is used client-side by a stock installation of Zen Cart. The web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc) interpret (run) the Javascript code included with Zen Cart on the website visitor's computer. One of these is to update the net / gross fields on the fly (before submit).

    Glad you were able to get things working at your office. As the problem was constrained to your "office" location, it could be something was not quite right with the installation of your web browser or browser helper objects... And the re-installation of one was able to get you back up and running... Hard to say after the fact...

    If you run into a similiar issue in the future (Javascript works from most locations / computers, but not one specific location), here are a few things to check (and questions to answer):
    • Are you using the same browser (and version)? Are any "compatibility" modes enabled for the site?
    • Are there any warnings or errors listed by the browser (such as mixed content, compatibility mode, etc)?
    • Does the computer have internet access to all external resources (such as those hosted on a CDN)?
    • Are different security rules for Javascript (or browser settings) configured on the non working computers?
    • Have you tried starting the browser with "no-addons"?
    • Does the location where things are not working employ a web cache? A filtering web proxy?

    Where are the Zen Cart Debug Logs? Where are the HTTP 500 / Server Error Logs?
