FedEx module cheating me.

Whenever I ship internationally, If the customer selected UPS, I will have UPS charge them for the customs fees. My preferred method of international shipping, and the most often selected, is USPS Priority mail. Almost all of my customers in Canada already know about the customs fees, and prefer Priority mail, because it just transfers to Canada Post, which doesn't charge for customs.

VAT not included in Fedex quote.

Fedex website quotes the exact same rate as the zen-cart shipping estimator.
We don't offer ground because it is more expensive than Priority.

If the Fedex quote received is significantly lower than this example, it will be due to the Customs Clearance fees not being included.

Could you go to Modules ... Shipping ... and click on the USPS ... what do you see in the right hand panel?

If you click EDIT and turn on Debug log at the bottom of the list, what shows up in the directory:
/logs

You can Zip the logs and attach them to your post ...

Then, go to your Zen Cart Admin and go to Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...

In the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

Then, select Catalog ... click SEARCH ...

What comes up on the lines for:
* @version $Id: usps.php

I'm going to chime in here in support of RixStix' original post. This isn't a Zen-Cart issue, it is a Fedex API not providing the full rate info because the full rate info isn't available until the package actually starts across the border (at least that is what I was told.)

I found the Fedex API couldn't add in the clearance fees so then I had to pay them.
So then I got the customer over the phone to accept that they would pay the clearance fees - 50% of the time the customer would then refuse the fees when Fedex sent them the bill.
So then I tried adding the clearance fees to the shipping amount. It never calculated correctly.

So I gave up on using Fedex for international and went with USPS.

Then it was just a hassle.

So I gave up on all international shipping and my life was much better :)

I am debating an Order Totals module to manage that fee for FedEx or adding an option to the FedEx that can come close to it ... I say close to it as yes, FedEx doesn't give the information back to put in the correct information so it would have to be added in a manner that allows the configuration of it separately in a more manual manner ...
