Managing downloadable media

Hi. Some of you are pretty well versed in all areas of e-commerce so I thought this would be a good place to ask this question.

I need to sell various written works to customers in e-book format. However, I want customers to download it to one device and only one device because I do not want customers sharing it. They pay for this information and it's only good on one device. I don't want them to be able to print it, copy it, or multiply it. The information is valuable and costs money to accumulate this information. Each user needs to pay his fair share...it is the only way to keep the cost down for everyone.

How in the world can I achieve this? Anyone know? That is to say, without it costing "buy a house" money.

You'll need to use some form of DRM. How or what I don't know but I'm sure you'll find some software via Google, if so please report back to help others.
