help question UPS Shipping problem - Is there a weight cap?

    Heya,

My client's website is office furniture, most of which are office chairs.

    We discovered a new problem:

The only shipping option is UPS Ground (because that is what the vendor uses).

Whenever you add either multiple products or multiple quantities of one product ... to where the combined total shipping weight is roughly 150 or more pounds ... we get the following error:

Your available shipping options have changed. Please re-select your desired shipping method.
We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown.

Now, regardless of how you do the order, each chair is shipping in its own box. So I am not sure why there would be a problem. Most chairs are between 35-65 lbs each.

Does anyone who has experience with large weight orders with UPS have an idea of what is going on?

Last time I used UPS, the upper weight limit for one package was 75 pounds. Zencart must think your two chairs are shipping in the same box. You can fix that in Admin - Configuration - Shipping / Packaging.

    Steve,

    Thanks for the reply.
What exactly should I be fixing in the Shipping/Package section to tell the cart not cause this problem?

Ah, think I found it ...

Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship ... I changed that to 75 (it was originally set to 300).

I was now able to add in loads of chair combinations that went well above 150 total lbs and did not receive any error message.

    Thanks again.
