customizing attribute dropdown

What I want to accomplish is; placing a linebreak between the option value and option price in an attribute dropdown, so as option value and price are stacked rather than inline.

example:
Trial Size Greens / 4 servings
$$.$$

rather than: Trial Size Greens / 4 servings $$.$$

The reason, is to control the width of the dropdown in order to better accommodate a 960 grid mobile version of the site (3 columns).

The easiest method would be to make this into radio buttons. Select boxes don't usually allow multi-line options.
