Okay, so the sql file doesn't have to go anywhere specific, you can actually upload it via the install sql patches if I remember correctly. (I think I have restored a site that way). (Edited) if you can wait a couple of minutes, I'll look to see if I can tell where the file is normally generated.
Another tool that might help with this is some version of easy populate. It may not take care of the deletion part, but if you properly map all of your attributes, you can then delete the attribute(s) that are just completely wrong without concern. It is unfortunately another tool to have to become familiar with, but I would think the time savings in the end would be tremendous if you have a large number of products.
Folder is admin/backups.

The readme says to "upload all files from the admin folder of this zip to your server", which means that everything inside the /admin_Zen_Cart_1.5.0_install/ folder should go into your renamed /admin/ folder on the server.
Note that the regular /includes/ folder is the wrong location!
The backup operation may put a file in /your_admin/backups/, but that is not the place for you to upload the backup_mysql.php file.

Ugh, I'm sorry,I thought the question was where to put the sql file that was generated from the first site to be able to restore the database on the second site. I didn't realize that was still stuck on installation of dr. Bytes backup database - mySQL utility.
Not that can't help with that, but not easy at the moment from a cell phone.

Thank you for the reply. I am not familiar with easy populate, although I want to become. I'm still not sure where the backup_msqlfile goes. I suppose it goes into the renamed admin?
It would be nice if someone could tell me where to go on this page as far as what to delete is concerned.
There are three "Delete" boxes:
1. Delete All Option Values for Product Name
2. Delete All Option Values to One products for Option Name.
3. Delete One Option Values to ONE Category of Products for Option Name.
In the all three the drop down list that says Select Option Name is cluttered with all my duplicates so I don't know which to choose.
I don't know whether to select a product or category.
Thanks again for your help here. I am afraid to just stumble through.

So I take it that the backup_mysql.php file goes into the renamed admin folder? Includes goes to includes?
Thank you,
Silver
The /includes/ mod folder AND the backup_mysql.php file both go into your renamed admin folder. Don't try putting the mod's /includes/ folder inside your admin /includes/ folder, as that will drop the files down a level from where they need to be.
gjh42:
I just noticed that I have two (2) renamed admin folders. One just placed on 11/11 and the other on 09/7. In other words my renamed admin files are like this now renamedadmin/renamedadmin with files below each. Do you have any idea of what might have happened? The last one has an includes folder, a xsell.php, and a xcell_advanced.php file. Should I just leave these alone and deal with the top renamed admin?
Thanks again,
Silver
So, think about what is going on/expected.
You want to "install" something to your cart. The thing is something that works with your admin side of your cart. In this case, it does not afford anything to a visitor. Therefore all parts of this program more than likely should only be in your admin side of your store. So yes, the php file you have asked about should be installed in the base of your admin folder and all other files should go into the folder(s) that are also in your admin folder. So the includes folder of the package should go into the includes folder of the admin directory.
As for the selection(s). Now that I have looked at that picture you provided, I understand better what you are asking, but am not sure I can give you a straight up answer without understanding (maybe again) what you want to happen. I thought the suggestion was to delete all but one attribute from each item that an attribute. This requires knowledge of the product(s) beyond that one screen shot.
I'm not sure that anyone can tell you which to do specifically, afterall if you follow their instruction and get a result that is undesirable, it's still you that has taken the action. What we can do is explain the effect of choosing the methods:
From the picture (considering all settings as shown on the picture) it looks like the first choice would allow you to delete option Amount from every product/category
The second would allow deletion of option Amount from the selected product, and the third to delete the option name Amount from the selected category.
So, the most targeted approach would be to delete the option from a product. (Only one product would be affected)
The second which is a little broader would be to work with a category. One assumption of this design is that products of the same category are likely to have the same attribute types.
The broadest approach is to delete all of the values associated with the option name amount from all products. This is basically to say that there is no use nor desire for any product to have that attribute.
So you will have to determine what step to take next based on where you are at with attributes on your product(s) and where you want to go.
I realize that another posted some more about the file structure earlier today, but I started writing this earlier also and didn't want to delete that extra info.

You would have a better idea than anyone as to what happened, but more than likely at some point you uploaded a renamed admin folder into your renamed admin folder instead of copying the contents of the new files of the renamed admin folder into the renamed admin folder, or copying your renamed admin folder into the folder just before your renamed admin folder.
As a result you may have not realized this error and the updates pushed into the subfolder of the admin folder may not be in your intended admin folder. Suggestion would be to download the base admin folder, do a comparison between the two folders, identify any differences and the need to merge, delete the duplicates that are in the extra folder, and restore the structure back to the way it should be. As a side note you can have your admin folder anywhere on the server (even deep in subfolders, but as you have been doing, not disclose that path.)
