    Default Setting url mapping

I have installed CEON URL Mapper.

Unfortunately I did not realise it would not 'map' names on products ALREADY loaded.

Is there any way I can apply this to all my products so they are 'friend;y' in the browser bar (apart it seems from buying their additional product...).
Not feasible to do it on each individual product, there are simply to many.

    thanks

Do a google search for the commercial version of the module ceon uri mappings manager. This module will create all the new mappings in one click ;)

    Thanks,

And how much would that "huge investment" save you in your time?
If you need it, buy it.
Not everything in your business can be free.

    Personally I don't use them,
but if I needed it, that "huge cost" would be money well spent.

Exactly!!! Spend $130 and INVEST in your business or roll up your sleeves and do the work needed to add URI's for all your products and categories..

Returning to the replies given, I have read various arguments for and against url mapping.
It seems like a good thing to do but until I see compelling evidence that it IS worthwhile and adds commercial value then I am not prepared to even consider purchasing at $130.

    Practical thoughts...

    1) Now that it is set 'ON' should it set all new uploaded products with dynamic url mapping?
    2) If I exported all products via .csv file and then uploaded (modify) them agaian via .csv, would the url mapping be active then?

    1) Using the standard add products routine(s) yes it will autogenerate (although you could set it how you want it.)
    2) Generally speaking no. CEON URI rewriter without additional modification counts on page displays to capture and "transfer" information in a very logical progression. However, with the right rewrite it could be such that on export of that csv file the not yet entered paths could be insert, and then modified with an upload. Now perhaps with the paid for add-on it would be possible to export and get the desired effect, but I don't think that any of the free plug-ins do that yet.

Why did you start a NEW thread for this.. There is a support thread for Ceon URI Mapping..

    To answer your questions..

    1. Yes, and this is CLEARLY stated in the readme file that comes with Ceon URI Mapping..
    2. No.. and for some of the reasons that mc12345678 stated.. and let me add this, if there was some EASY PEEZY way to do this, don't you think it would be clearly posted in the support thread for Ceon URI Mapping??? Don't you think the author would have told you HOW to do this?? Wouldn't someone in the community have "shared the secret"??

You won't purchase the Mappings Manager software because you need "compelling evidence that it IS worthwhile and adds commercial value". Your logic doesn't make sense.. WHY are you bothering with this module and looking for a shortcut to creating the URIs when you yourseldf are not sure of the "commercial value" of it?? Isn't your TIME valuable and better spent getting on with the business of "selling/making money".. Seems as if you are spending a LOT of valuable time trying to find a shortcut to creating your URIs which will allow you to AVOID having to purchase the Mappings Manager software.. and that's fine, but the time you have spent looking for a shortcut you could have simply followed the readme instructions for creating your product and category URIs manually, and moved on..

OR you could have simply invested in the Mapping Manager software generated your URIs and be done with it..

So you have some choices here:

    1. Rollup your sleeves and do the work that is required to create your product and category URIs
    2. INVEST in the Mappings Manager
    3. Hire a developer to create your own version of the Mapping Manager
    4. Do NOTHING
    5. Continue to look for a shortcut.. (there really isn't one..)
