hello,
I am hunting down a ghost.... I set the weight of my item to "0" and when I test it with Per Unit, I still have a Residual charge.. It is never "0".. How come? where do I need to look for this Residual charge?

Are you saying you have set the Product Weight to: 0 (or are you saying you are trying to enter it with the quote marks?)
What is the purpose of the 0 weight ... are you trying to do Free Shipping based on 0 weight?
What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packing ... for the:
Maximum Weight (should be 5000)
Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight (should be 0:0)
Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight (should be 0:0)

Hello...
Are you saying you have set the Product Weight to: 0 --- > yes,, I am trying to test the per unit
What is the purpose of the 0 weight -----> trying to test the module ..
I set the weight to 0 ( zero) and once I try to buy the item .. I still have a charge for Per Unit. I thought this Per Unit is calculate by the weight of the item. so where is the Per Unit charge comes from? if I have the weight set to 0?
-awk
The Per Unit perweightunit is based on the products_weight x quantity in the cart x Per Unit Rate ...
If you set in the Modules ... Shipping ... Per Unit perunitrate to 1.00 then when you set the Product Weight to:
Add Qty 1 x 0 (product_weight) x 1.00 (Per Unit Rate) = $0.00 shipping
Add Qty 1 x 2.50 (product_weight) x 1.00 (Per Unit Rate) = $2.50 shipping
Add Qty 1 x 3.00 (product_weight) x 1.00 (Per Unit Rate) = $3.00 shipping
Add Qty 2 x 2.50 (product_weight) x 1.00 (Per Unit Rate) = $5.00 shipping
Add Qty 2 x 3.00 (product_weight) x 1.00 (Per Unit Rate) = $6.00 shipping
etc. etc. etc.
So the Shipping Cost will be calculated based on individual Product Weight ...
So, for the Products set to 0 weight, you are saying you want "free shipping" as 0 x any quantity or rate will be 0.00 ...
