Default HTML Editors not working in v.1.5.1

I have installed the CKEDITOR and although it allows me to select it as the default for the store, when I try to select it when I want to define pages the plain text pops back into its place. This is nerve wracking!

I have installed this module many times on 1.5x. I don't think that it is a problem with the module. Maybe you have not installed it correctly? Do you have any errors in your /logs folder?

    Thanks,

    Anne

Also, when describing your process, you have 1 logged into admin, 2, gone to tools->define pages editor.

Here you have two dropdowns. You first select the appropriate editor (right side drop down), then you try to edit a define page, correct?

Correct. But when I select the appropriate editor (CKEDITOR), page refreshes and returns to PlainText

Well, per the init_html_editor.php file, this happens if a couple of conditions are not met... Make sure files are stored in the correct directory, and if the instructions suggest something with either admin/includes/init_includes/init_html_editor.php or admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/init_html_editor.php I think files in the overrides folder actually will override the same file in the directory below, so if there is a file in the overrides folder, I suggest that it be the "most recent"...

Thanks. I had to get rid of the admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/init_html_editor.php and now it works fine.

As you continue to put your site back in functional order from it's previous attempt to upgrade, did you happen to notice if there was anything worth keeping in the override version of the file? Like maybe now something else doesn't work, because the file has been removed that had extra "direction"?

That file is a core file in zc 1.5.1 - there should be no need *to get rid of* that file. As Picaflor-Azul suggested, you may not have installed the CKEditor correctly. This editor has never failed me either.

    I agree 100%

    Thanks,
