After searching for some time I was not able to find a 'plugin' to add Videos to product pages - although plugins do exist for other packages - so have set up a manual method to do it.
Basically my method is as follows. For each product -
- I created a web page on the server which has nothing on it except a 'responsive' video player with a menu of the videos relating to that product
- In Zen Cart in the product description I add a link to call the video page in an Iframe.
- I added some info to the template CSS to make the Iframe 'responsive'.
I have to create a separate video player for each product as the video file/s are hard coded into the web page, and have to upload the videos and thumbnails manually using ftp.
I have 2 questions -
1. Does anyone know if there may be a simpler way to do this (eg a plugin)
2. Can anyone possibly explain why when viewed on a smartphone there is such a large gap below the videos in description. The gap does not appear when viewed in a browser.
Here is how the video player appears on the PC
Here is how it appears on a Smartphone
And this is the content of the product description (no extra line breaks)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
