are redirects needed when store moved from root to folder

I recently moved a store from the root to now be in a folder, /store. Do I need to redirect previous urls to new ones, i.e. domain/category1 redirected to domain/store/category1 ? If so will redirecting the categories with a trailing "/" suffice for redirection of all products included in the category rather than having to redirect every product url?

So are you using a URI rewriter as part of the naming convention?

Yes in some way customers should be redirected to your new location. Regarding the rewrite based on categories above, need to ensure passing the remaining text of the URI after the end of the category. Ideally should be comparing the category up to either the end of the line or the next slash. (What if 2 categories exist(ed) such as brand and brandname then simply redirecting brand would also redirect brandname.) Just some things to consider. I don't believe I have a full answer at this time.
