Allow customers to turn on or off images

Is it possible to allow a customer to turn on/off images in the store.

It would make the product list smaller. Most of our stuff is ordered without clicking on the item, it's ordered right off the product list page and for customers who order once or twice a week, it would be a time saver.

That is not a stock functionality, but it could be done. You might create a new session variable, and put a switch in the header so customers could select images or no images. Then you would put a test in the product listing code to check the value of the variable and show the images or not.

It would be possible to allow each customer to set a persistent value for this, but that would be considerably more complex, requiring a new database field and the communicating code.
