help question META_TAG_TITLE IN BROWSER BAR....Cannot correct this...

After editing the meta_tags.php in my over rides folder to add key words, META_TAG_TITLE appeared in the browser instead of Odins Miniatures.

After reading every piece of info on here about this problem i still cannot correct it.

I wrote down the files i used just in case but after back tracking cannot find a cause.
I have replaced the zencart includes folder for a new copy still no joy
I replaced the meta_tags file for my template in the overrides system still no joy
Ive checked every file mentioned in all the posts with the same problem and still no joy.
i am using 1.3.9g on A Pink Boutique template.

I tried changing the template to a different one and still get the META_TAG-TITLE
So i can only assume i did something dumb, but i am positive i didn't alter anything apart from the metatags.php file.

My other site did the same as i edited both site together but i replace the original includes folder and all went back to normal.
Does anyone have a clue what might fix this, i really dont want to have to redo the whole site as i have over 3000 product on the site.

You most likely removed the single quotes from the define value whan you changed it:

Thank you for your reply, i will go back to the files and check, as i only messed with the meta tags file, i should be able to find it if i did delete something.
But i did replace all the files, with fresh copies from the zencart includes and the meta tags.php from the template file, so i assumed this would fix the item i deleted.
Maybe i should find the tutorial i followed on here to edit the meta tags just in case there was another file i messed with and forgot to write it down.

help question Re: META_TAG_TITLE IN BROWSER BAR....Cannot correct this...

I've manage to get my other installed templates to be free of the META_TAGS_TITLE in the browser bar.
Just not the template i am using.
As far as i can see all the meta tag files in my custom folder are fresh copies untouched by me from the original set.
So maybe i uploaded a metatags file to the wrong folder by mistake that is still an old copy and this could be causing this browser problem
Am i correct to assume this or would it have no effect.

As it seems to be my custom template where the problem is would it be wise to save my files and install a fresh custom template and then
replace with my saved edited files and logos, except for the metatags php files.

That should work. What happens if you remove the affected file(s) from your custom template and allow the defaults to take over? You say 'as far as I can see' the files are identical. Have you used a file comparison tool (I use Compare It!, many here use Winmerge) to see if they are, in fact, the same?

If i remove the meta tags.php from my custom folder i lose my site it just shows a blank white screen on my live shop.

I will check the files again with winmerge,
Im going to reinstall my custom folder and replace one customized file at a time, i think this way i will find the error more quickly, and can then check the file to see what i did wrong, i suppose we learn through our mistakes.

If i get stuck or it all goes wrong i will have to repost.
Thank you so much for your help and advice.

OK i have found a solution, installed the template from scratch, and the browser bar is now displaying the template name.
I saved a copy of my original edited files so i can upload one folder back at a time, so i will then know what file to look in and correct it.
A very big thank you to stevesh for advising me.
