You should have looked at the plugins...lol. Take a look at this one, for instance:

That is a great mod,
but a simple version is already included as standard..

goto admin/Categories/Products and find a product
Click on the "$" symbol
Click "Edit"
Click "add blank discounts"
Edit as required
