Latest USPS modules on v 1.3.7 - is it doable?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to update the USPS shipping module on the old 1.3.7 cart. currently I am using USPS J5 (Jul 2013). After the new module installation, no quick quote estimate (empty pop-up) and blank screen during the checkout. I tried also older Versions K5 and K3. The same problem.

Is there a quick hack how to make it work? I know that the 1.3.7 is too old, but still have too keep it for a while....

PHP 5.3.23, MySQL 5.5.30.

Any suggestions?

First, let's make sure everything is installed right ...

Look in the directory /cache do you see any debug logs?

Go to your Zen Cart Admin and go to Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...

In the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

Then, select Catalog ... click SEARCH ...

What comes up on all of the paths to the files and the lines for:
* @version $Id: usps.php

NOTE: you definitely want to upgrade to a current version of Zen Cart and not use that old, buggy and out dated version that you have ...

There are no entries in Catalog search, except the last USPS version info.
The 1st checkout page (index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping) returns 500 server error. Are there any settings in zen admin to enable php errors?

Did you run through this old post of yours about USPS issues and check all of the things we ran through last time?

Can you post the paths and lines that do show?

You say this happens in the checkout ... does it happen as a guest in the Shipping Estimator?

Does it happen on both Domestic and International shipping?

If you edit the USPS module and turn on the Debug Log at the bottom of the file and try a checkout, does any debug logs get generated in the /cache directory? If so, can you Zip them and attach it to your post ...

The update. I have installed the debug error logging and there is only one error that seems to be important:

Undefined offset: 1 in /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpsdocs/includes/functions/functions_prices.php on line 133

All other errors are just "PHP Deprecated: Function ereg()"

More details. A quick shipping estimate (popup window) works fine for International shipping, but shows an empty window for domestic. The 1st step of checkout (index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping) always show 500 server error

Are these debug logs that you have found current or old?

Did you look at the old thread and post #13?

I used the same #13 hack from my old post and it has fixed the pop-up quotes. The checkout seems to be working on unsecure site (http).

However, due to some reasons, the 1st checkout page generates server 500 error on the https secure site, even if i revert to the old 2013 USPS code that used to be working perfectly fine.

I am puzzled.... the code is exactly the same the secure site mirrors its http part, not other changes, but the server generates fatal error......
