Change "Product Qty Maximum" based on customer group

Good afternoon all. While Twitch is working on another mod for me, I wanted to throw this question out there for those zc brainiacs that know coding way more than I do.

Is it possible to change the Product Qty Maximum for particular customers (defined by group or something) so that logged in customers under that group can buy more than guests and someone who is not logged in but not part of the group? Say guests can but upto 5 qty but group members can buy 10?

Are you referring to product quantity discounts in the price manager?

Buy 0 - 5 items -> pay $10

Buy 6 - 10 items -> pay $6

This has been addressed for Twitch Wholesale in the forum.

There is no existing code that filters the product quantity maximum relative to the customer group.

Not looking for discounts, I would like to limit non-members and give more freedom to members.

I would suggest doing it by group as it would be easier to move customers from one restrcition to another. It is a fairly simple edit but I think it does modify some core files. I will have to take a look at my notes as I did it for a friends site a few years back.

You'll need Twitch Wholesale, Twitch Restrict Cat..., and the update for Group Pricing by Item that hasn't been released yet.

Perhaps I'll need to write up 'how to setup a membership pyramid' in the notes.
