Default Cart Quantity Based on Attributes

    Hi all....

I am trying to figure out how to set up a discount. We sell eBooks. I want to be able to have a single product with multiple attributes. Each attribute represents one short story. If a reader wants to buy a single short story, they would be charged $0.99. If they want to buy all the stories available for that product, the price would be $5.99 (we will say there are 10 short stories).

I have tried Quantity discount and that doesn't work as there is only 1 product being sold, not more than one. I have tried attribute quantity discount, but that only works if you are purchasing multiples of the same attribute. I do NOT want to set up separate products for each story.

Is there another way to do this? or perhaps an add-on? I am pretty code savvy, I just don't want to dive in unless I know that's my last resort.

    Thanks.

One thought if you really are going to charge .99 per each or a set price for all, would be to price by attribute, and one of the attributes is the entire "series" as a single file. Price of product free, each attribute .99, except the entire package. Also add an attribute like "select one of the following that would be read only.

The only thing I can see that "might" be an issue in the case of having 10 available items this way, is that once someone buys 7 they might as well have bought the entire thing, but so goes some purchases like that right?

If you name your attribute values and names right, then populating additional products should be quick and easy.
