PayPal went through but there are no details in the invoice?

They mostly do Authorize.Net but also accept PayPal, getting only about 1-2 PayPal transactions a month. On 1/24/2014, a purchase was made, PayPal received the money, we received email directly from PayPal, but Zen Cart never sent the email and the invoice in Zen Cart has NO PayPal details (even though there is at least an order with address/etc).</p>

Something died but we got paid. I&#39;m downloading the payment modules\paypal\logs now to see if there are clues (luckily they were left turned on; but there are four years of them). I&#39;ll start testing PayPal, but I thought I&#39;d ask if anyone else is experiencing PayPal issues new in 2014 from this older version 1.3.8a?</p>

fyi -- there are a set of 7 log files for PayPal for the transaction in question. All of them (pairs of Action/CURL + 1 IPN) look fine except the IPN log has what seems to be "normal" fatal errors and warnings that match prior successful transactions.

That will happen with Paypal Standard (assuming that's what you're using). Switch to the much more reliable Paypal Express.
