product linking issue

Hello,

I have created 2 categories A and B, each with 2 sub-categories: A1, A2 and B1 B2, respectively.

I create one product under sub-category A1, all good so far.

I now link that product to sub-category B1, but now both product pages are blank.

I then unlink product from sub-category B1 ... and both pages are still blank!

I never experienced this before.

Does anyone know what could be the problem? Perhaps database-related?

Is this a clean install or something that started after an upgrade?

It's a clean install, with no plugins.

Are you doing this test with an existing product or with a new product you've created with just a couple fields entered?

This is a brand new shop. The product is the first and only product and with most fields entered.

I have created a new database and re-installed the cart and still experience the same issue.

I have now only created categories 1 and 2, without any sub-category.

I create product 1 under category 1, which shows normally.

I now copy (link) that product to category 2, but that product page is blank. Product under category 1 still shows normally ...

I'm looking at the data under 'products_to_categories' in the database and don't see anything strange there, see below.

products_id = 1 categories_id = 1
products_id = 1 categories_id = 2

Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Well, I forgot about the very useful debug utility.

There were just 2 extra lines after the closing ?> of a custom sidebox language php file. Removing these lines fixed the issue
