Zone shipping for provinces??

Hi

an extension to my last post just before this that kind of relates…

Is it possible to use Zone shipping for Canadian provinces as apposed to countries? If so how do I do that? If not, how to I set up table shipping so that I can have a different set of rates for each province? Is that possible? Thanks!

Yes you can setup separate zones for each province in Canada. Make the province then add the Rates that apply to it. Takes some time but useful if you're selling across the country

Ok, thanks. Bear in mind I'm a novice, so just need a little guidance please.
Would I set up 'zone definitions' that include single or groups of provinces where the shipping rate is the same for those provinces, then apply those to the shipping module I choose? I was thinking of using Table Rate so I could build a range of increasing shipping prices based on weight in the cart, then apply that to the appropriate zone definition. But when I look at the Table Rate module, there is only one choice I can make for a Shipping Zone, not several. I want to have different price scales for different provincial zone definitions. Is that possible? Thanks.

This will work by cloning the desired shipping module in:
includes/modules/shipping/flat.php
cloned as:
includes/modules/shipping/flatClone.php

Rename all instances of 'flat' with 'flatClone'

Then install each one in Admin -> Modules -> Shipping

And apply the desired taxes and set the shipping zone for the desired province

Cloning will work with the other shipping modules, there are plugins for cloning in the forum as well.
