ckeditor won't stay selected

I down loaded and installed the ckeditor and followed the instructions. Copied the files and went to admin>config>Mystore>HTML Editor then logged off then back on. I can see the EDITOR_CKEDITOR in the drop down but it does not load, but flips back to the (Plain Text). I have seen where others have had this problem but have not seen a definative anwser as to what the problem is. Can someone tell me what I'm missing. Thank you in advance.

I found my problem. I up loaded the files with Filezilla this time. Dreamwever the first time. In short good copys of the files were not on the server.
