Custom Email Invoice - can I email just a payment link?

Is there a way to use Zen Cart to email a simple invoice to a client, asking for a set payment? Nothing fancy - just email an invoice asking for payment of X dollars, where the client may click on a link in the email to be taken to my payment gateway.

I am using cartmanager to do this now, but trying to get away from the $14. / month fees.

Zen Cart is built around selling specific items from your catalog.

So, if you have a product set up for that specific price, then you could manually email a link to your customer for just that product.
Or set up a product for $1.00 and have them add 17 of that item to their cart if they want to pay $17.00.

Or just use your PayPal account to send them an invoice.

That's a work around, but unwieldy. Is there a way to just pick a number and email an invoice to have someone pay me a certain dollar amount, not for any item in my cart, just to pay me! (Such as for services.) The dollar amounts might be $50., $100., $120. I've invoiced much higher amounts too. To do it the way you describe, I'd need to create an "item" for each dollar amount I plan to invoice.

With cartmanager I may simply login to my cart admin, go to a certain page which involves "email invoice to customer,"

fill in the fields,

and click to email the invoice away. cartmanager works for me, but tired of paying the $14. per month.

Twitch Account$ does not require you to make a product for each value. You can use the 'Cash' option to make an invoice of any value to anyone.

As I understand twitchtoo, each client who wishes to pay me must register? Or am I misunderstanding the system?

lat9 thanks for the donate buttons. That would be one way to do things, but when we're talking about invoicing a new client for work not yet done, it must be very easy for them to pay. If it requires work for them like going to a certain webpage and entering a dollar amount (or, quantity or anything more difficult than just clicking on a link in an email) and then paying, some will lose interest before paying.

DrByte I do not use PayPal. Use authorize.net Unfortunately authorize.net does not have a way to directly email an invoice (request for payment) which is why I am forced to use cartmanager to do that right now.
