Hi,
I'm finding that my customers are finding the 2-step redeem-then-apply process for Gift Vouchers/Gift Certificates confusing. I've found lots of posts by equally confused users on this Forum, but have not found my "dream solution" here. Is there any way to change the current process to the following:
1. Ways registered customers can obtain GV on my website (this doesn't change):
(a) new customer registers a new account and automatically gets a welcome $1 GV
(b) customer already has an account and purchases a GV
(c) customer already has an account and either I or another customer sends them a GV
2. Desired redemption process for registered customers (this changes):
- the welcome/purchased/received amount is automatically added to the customer's Available Balance (instead of redemption code or link sent in email), confirmation email merely states this fact and gives instructions on finding the available balance and applying it towards their next order or sending it on to someone else.
The old process (link/code in email) would remain unchanged for non-registered persons whom someone sends a GV, just the already registered ones would have the process simplified.
How can a person who can copy&paste code but can't write code get this to work? Or perhaps someone has already written it and would be willing to share with us coding-challenged folks?
