Thanks Frank :) I'll take a look at that.
How's the weather? Are you far enough up to be seeing any of that tropical low?
Found it, thanks :)
And yeah, they're saying it's the most widespread drought in QLD on record. Not good.
The only thing regarding something like easy populate and the original post is the discussion of having the cross product links exact. If no one is modifying the online store between the times that the local store is modified (regarding products) then it would work, but and depending on how the product(s) are referenced, might not map one-for-one by product id. If product_id is a factor.
All that said, if what is done to the local store is done to the live (create/delete/etc) then it will work and maintain the links that are of concern nearly regardless of the format of the link.

What I do...
For single new products I just get the descriptions and metastuff right locally then copy and paste to the real shop. There is no time saved any other way.
For multiple products I build a comprehensive spreadsheet with all product fields then import that repeatedly to the local shop with Apsona, fine-tuning it until it is perfect with category links and all, before doing the final import to the real shop.

My 'live' store is not actually live, so I'm only making changes to it once I've tested them on my local install.
And technically there is time saving. A local page will load almost instantly, whereas an online web page can take up to a minute depending upon internet connection, and here in Australia our internet speeds are not that great. Plus I also have to do a bit of back and forth-ing getting the Facebook links dedicated to each individual product, so I have to add the product in the admin, then load the product page on the store to get the url, then edit the product in the admin to add the url - so I need quite a few page loads to do one single product, and I'm about to add about 100 extra products.
I have all my product info pages written out beforehand ... I'm very OCD with being prepared. Probably would of make an excellent girl scout LMAO
Thanks for all your help and advise![]()
