    Default Merge Database MySQL files

Is it possible to merge 2 database MySQL files (crasales_zc1 and _zc2) from 2 different domains on the same server? I would want to merge into zc2. zc1 site uses zen 1.3.9 (really messed up trying to upgrade) and zc2 used zen 1.5.0. I would then forward the messed up domain to the good one. What would the merge do to the good site? would my products from the messed up site show on the good site. What files would I have to change? So many questions and so little knowledge.

I have researched the forum and tried all kinds of fixes for the 1.3.9 site for 4 days and the aheader I go the behinder I get. If I can merge the two that would work much better than trying to keep up 2 sites. Any one have any answers on this, I sure do not want to have to have to physically enter all the products from 1.3.9 site into the 1.5.0 site.

Yes it is possible. It is also a minefield.

There's two ways you can go about this.
The 1st way is to hire a skilled SQL developer to do it for you.
The second way is with a lot of trial and error with exporting and importing the relevant tables from the 'good' DB to the bad/incomplete DB.

You will be making lots of backups from both sites, starting from before you do anything at all, and ongoing backups as you progress from table to table.

By the time you've finished you'll be quite intimate with all the tables and the data they contain. In fact you'll be in the position where other people in a similar position will seek you out and pay you to do it for them.

In short, either become an expert, or hire an expert. There's no easy solution to this, and no one here will be in a position to hold your hand each step of the way.

Sorry I can't offer more helpful advice.

    Cheers

    You say:
zc1 site uses zen 1.3.9 (really messed up trying to upgrade)
Is it the database that is a mess or just the files on the zc1 site?

Then you say you have a:
    zc2 used zen 1.5.0
Are both the database and files working on this zc2 site?

    Then you want to:
I would then forward the messed up domain to the good one. What would the merge do to the good site?
Is that a 3rd database and files for some version of Zen Cart? If so, does the database have anything in it? Or, is this the destination of having merged the databases in zc1 and zc2?

I am trying to be sure we understand just what is broken or working and what needs to be pieced together ...

The idea is, if the database for zc1 (v139) is good but the files for that site are a mess, then the database could be put on a temporary clean database and v150 site and upgraded ...

Once the copy of the zc1 (v139) database is upgraded to v150, the merge is made a little easier but it is still not going to be fun ...

But understanding the mess ad what is good and what is the final destination is important in how to string everything together ...

Thanks for the information. I have another thread concerning the admin problem ( http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...60#post1243060 ) and if I can get that fixed I will worry about combining databases later. Thanks for your time and information.
