Multi-language SEO URLs - can I get the canonical and alternate links in English?

Hello,

The Multi-language SEO URLs is a wonderful tool to add the language annotations to each page, and I have been using the mod with Ultimate SEO URLs, and they work well together.

However, I also run my store in Japanese and the urls for the canonical and alternate links are generated in Japanese characters, which do not work well as a web address. If you know how to generate those canonical & alternate link in English spelling, even for the Japanese pages, I would really appreciate it.

I run Zen Cart 1.3.9h in both English & Japanese with PHP 5.2.17 & MySQL 5.0.95. Any feedback would be appreciated.

On the fly, as in as the page is being created, I can't say I know. But there seems to be a lot of good translation type web pages that could probably do that.
